Downtown Alpharetta merchants created the Alpharetta Farmers Market in 2006. They wanted a place where the residents could purchase fresh local produce. The first Market took place under the old oak tree located in the city parking lot. Since that time, the Farmers Market has developed into a Saturday morning event that is not to be missed.

The Alpharetta Farmers Market is held each Saturday from 8:30 to 12 pm from the beginning of April until November. Christmas Markets are held during the first two Saturdays in December. The Alpharetta Farmers Market is located in downtown Alpharetta, on North and South Broad Streets, in front of City Center. Admission to the Market is free and it is open to the public.

The Alpharetta Farmers Market is dog friendly, however, dogs must be on a leash and owners must clean up after messes. All owners are responsible for the behavior of their pups. Parking is free around the area of the Alpharetta Farmers Market.

The Alpharetta Farmers Market is open rain or shine each Saturday. Individual vendors may decide whether or not to set up their boot due to the weather conditions. If high winds or lightning is present, the Market will determine if it needs to delay, close early, or not open.

Residents can help the local Farmers Market by volunteering to help set up, clean up, and even help with fundraising. If residents would like to help, but don’t have the time to volunteer, donations, including tent supplies, newspaper, boxes,  and crates are welcomed.
