Cogburn Park and Arboretum

Cogburn Park is a six-acre park located in Alpharetta, GA. It is located near North Main Street, on Cogburn Road. Park amenities include cornhole boards, a 0.2 mile concrete walking path, an arboretum, Little Free Library, a Play Me Again Piano, restroom facilities, and a passive play area. There are two small pavilions that are available on a first come, first serve basis. These pavilions can be used for intimate family celebrations and picnics. The large playground is for children ages 2-12. 


The Cogburn Park Arboretum is a great place that can be used for research, education, and enjoyment. It features a collection of seven trees that function as a living museum. The Arboretum features mature trees as well as newly planted trees that are unique. The trees can be found adjacent to the parking lot. The Cogburn Park Arboretum also contains a rain barrel demonstration area which is located on the north side of the restroom facility. Rainwater that is collected here is used to water the trees and other plants at the park. 


The playground contains multiple slides, climbing structures, and swings. It sits over wood chips and is partially shaded by nearby trees. It is designed for ages two to five and five to twelve. There are benches throughout the park. 


There is flat, oval, and open green space, with plenty of space to throw a ball around or play a nice game of tag. There is a flat concrete pathway around the open green space. It is approximately 0.2 miles. It is a great path for those that want to enjoy a leisurely stroll or those looking to get their daily jog in. 

There are two covered picnic areas that are perfect for a family get together or lunch date with friends. These pavilions are no charge, however, they are only available on a first come, first serve basis. 


The Cogburn Park offers two unique features. One, being the Little Free Library. The other being the Play Me Again Piano. The Play Me Again Piano is one of 88 beautifully painted pianos that is freely accessible throughout Metropolitan Atlanta. The goal is to strengthen and enrich communities, as well as bring joy and inspire people. 


There is no fenced area, however, pets on leashes are welcome to enjoy the park. Cogburn Park & Arboretum is located at 12825 Cogburn Rd, Alpharetta, GA 30004.
